QUESTIONS OR REQUESTS

Who is responsible for your data

Target Merge is developed and operated by me, Jakub Hýl, Business ID 23097736, registered at Gen. Hrušky 1215/25, 709 00 Ostrava – Mariánské Hory, Czech Republic.

For the processing described in this policy, I am the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). A Data Protection Officer is not required and has not been appointed.

Data saved on your device

Target Merge has no accounts, no cloud sync and no server of mine. The game saves the following only in its storage on your device:

  • settings: sound effects, music, haptic feedback and reduced motion;
  • records: best scores, highest ball, best combo, games played and similar totals;
  • your last 50 games: score, highest ball, best combo, duration, number of drops and merges, power-ups used, whether the game was continued, difficulty level, the random seed of the game and when it ended (used to balance difficulty);
  • power-up charges and refill times, your cached Premium status, ad counters and offer history (such as games since the last ad and whether you accepted Continue offers), the Focused Merge trial state, rewards already claimed and a log of recent power-up changes;
  • whether you have finished the tutorial.

This data is not sent to me or to any of the services below. It may be included in your device backups (for example iCloud or Google backup), which Apple or Google handle under your account settings. Uninstalling the game deletes it from your device.

What the game does not collect

The game does not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts or photos, and there is no sign-in. The only permission it asks for is the tracking permission on iPhone and iPad, for ads (see Your ad choices). I do not use analytics, crash reporting or marketing tools of my own, and there is no tracking beyond the advertising described below.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Target Merge is free to play and is funded by ads from Google AdMob, an advertising service of Google. Ads appear in two ways:

  • Between games: without Premium, a full-screen ad may occasionally appear after a game ends. Ads never appear while you are playing.
  • Rewarded videos: you can choose to watch a video to refill a power-up or to continue a game. These are always optional, with or without Premium.

To show and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the game collects the following and sends it to Google:

  • your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location (such as your country or city);
  • device identifiers: on Android, the advertising ID and app set ID; on iPhone and iPad, the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking, otherwise identifiers limited to this app or developer;
  • ad data, such as which ads you have seen and how you interact with them (views, taps, completed videos), and app interactions such as app launches;
  • diagnostic and performance data, such as crash logs, app launch time and hang rate, and technical details such as device type, operating system and app version.

Google uses this data to deliver ads, limit how often you see them, measure their performance, prevent fraud and, if you allow it, personalize ads. Google acts as an independent controller of this data under the Google Privacy Policy. The game does not share your scores, settings or other game data with Google.

Your ad choices

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform appears before any ads are requested. It explains how Google and its ad partners use data and lets you accept or decline personalized ads. If you decline, you may still see non-personalized or limited ads, which are not based on your past activity.

You can review or change your choice at any time in Settings › Privacy Choices (shown where the consent rules require it).

On iPhone and iPad, the game asks once for permission to track, using Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. It appears right after a short message from Google that explains why (in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, after the consent form above). If you allow it, Google can use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to personalize ads. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, the IDFA is not available to Google. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (usually Settings › Privacy › Ads or Settings › Google › Ads).

You can also manage how Google personalizes ads in My Ad Center, and read how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Premium purchase (Apple, Google and RevenueCat)

Target Merge Premium is an optional one-time purchase (not a subscription) made through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes the payment as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. I never see or store your card, billing details or store account.

To verify purchases and know whether Premium is active, the game uses RevenueCat, Inc. (USA), which acts as a processor on my behalf. When you are online, the game contacts RevenueCat while it is open (for example at launch) and when you buy or restore Premium. RevenueCat receives:

  • a random, anonymous user ID created by the RevenueCat SDK on your device (not linked to your name, email or store account);
  • your purchase history for this game from the App Store or Google Play: product, price, currency, store country, transaction IDs, dates and the purchase receipt;
  • technical data needed to connect to its servers, such as IP address, platform, operating system version, app and SDK version and language.

RevenueCat does not receive your scores, settings or other game data. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their store policies.

Privacy policies: RevenueCat, Apple, Google.

Contacting support

If you email me at support@jakubhyl.com, I receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. I use it only to answer you and keep it only as long as needed to resolve your request and any follow-up.

Legal bases (GDPR)

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): running the game, saving your progress on your device, and providing and restoring Premium.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): personalized ads, storing or reading information on your device for advertising where consent is required, and use of the IDFA if you allow tracking on iOS. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings › Privacy Choices or your device settings; this does not affect processing before the withdrawal.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): showing non-personalized or limited ads to keep the game free, ad fraud prevention, frequency limits and diagnostics, verifying purchases, and answering support emails.

International transfers

Google and RevenueCat may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. These transfers are protected by safeguards such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified, or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long data is kept

  • Game data on your device: until you uninstall the game.
  • Purchase records at RevenueCat: as long as needed to provide and restore Premium and to meet legal obligations such as accounting, or until you ask me to delete them.
  • Advertising data at Google: according to Google's retention policy.
  • Support emails: as long as needed to resolve your request.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time.

Your game data is fully under your control: I hold no copy of it, and uninstalling the game deletes it. For ad data, use Settings › Privacy Choices, your device ad settings or the Google tools above. For purchase data held by RevenueCat, email me at support@jakubhyl.com and include the order ID from your App Store or Google Play receipt so I can find the record.

If you live in California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, you may have similar rights, including the right to know, to delete and to opt out of targeted advertising. Sending device data to Google for personalized ads may count as "sharing" under these laws. To opt out, choose Ask App Not to Track on iOS, delete or reset your advertising ID on Android, or use Privacy Choices where it is shown.

You can also complain to a data protection authority. In the Czech Republic this is the Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ, uoou.gov.cz), or you can contact the authority in the EU country where you live.

Children

Target Merge is a general-audience game. It is not directed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact me and I will help remove it.

Security

Data sent to Google and RevenueCat travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Data on your device is protected by your device's own security, such as its passcode and encryption.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy, for example when the game gains features or a service changes. The date at the top shows the current version, which is also published at jakubhyl.com/en/app-privacy/targetmerge. I will mention significant changes in the app's update notes.
